Illuminating the inner-workings of bacterial and viral pathogens by cryo-electron microscopy

Bryan Sibert, Ph.D.

Position title: Scientist II

Email: sibert@wisc.edu

Bryan completed his Ph.D. under the mentorship of Dr. Paul Ahlquist at UW-Madison. He studied the organization and function of viral proteins essential for assembly of positive-strand RNA virus membrane-associated RNA replication complexes. Bryan is Ann assistant scientist in Dr. Wright’s lab, the Cryo-EM Research Center, and the Midwest Center for Cryo-Electron Tomography at the UW-Madison. His research interests center around using cryo-ET to study viral structure and assembly in multiple systems including RSV, HIV-1, and Ty1 LTR-retrotransposon.
